i wanted to kick the shit out of him...
i wanted to kick the shit out of him... i took the to the park this morning for his group and along the way i met this tiny girl. she was seemingly alone on my street so i stopped and asked her where she lived. she said a street name that was pretty far away and so i asked where he mama or her papa was. she pointed vaguely to the park so i walked her in with me and she pointed to a man who was screaming at the soccer players with such vitriol in his voice that i hesitated approaching him. when i did, i asked if this was his . he grabbed her arm and shook her... there were other parents there and my next door neighbor Jim, whose was on the field. Jim is a big guy. he snatched the and handed her to his wife and then took the man by the collar and pulled him off about 50 yards or so. i have no idea what he said. the game Had stopped. all the parents were clustered around the little girl. and my neighbor Diane said the police were on their way. as Jim held the man off...the girl's sister came over to her and slapped her in the face. the little one started scream/crying and my shoved the big sister aside and stood point in front of the littler one. good dog, charlie. by the time the police arrived, so had the mother. dad had the girls for the weekend but mom had come to see the game. the girls left with her. the dad left with the police. and charlie and i went on to play with his buddies. i saw Jim about an hour ago and he told me the police had asked for my name and number. what the hell is up with a man who stans a good four feet above a tiny and feels that shaking her is the appropriate response to his lack of parental supervision? and the who slapped her little sister? wonder where she got that from....... i cannot see this having a good end. and altho i didn't and wouldn't.......i really wanted to kick the shit out of that SOB. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Guess i'm the odd one in this case. But - I am glad it happened in public, also thankful there was a support system at hand as now, just maybe the young one will get a back up team at her side. Many days go by and this goes on behind closed doors with many knowing and no one uttering so much as a whisper to get help or get it stopped. The future leaders is among our youth of today and we must protect them, Mind you in doing so the cost maybe high but well worth it. MANY HUGS & MORE Bone from butch for four legged I hope.

Poor thing... I read an article that said one of the things that can allow kids in bad situations to be resilient, is to have contact with even one kind, sympathetic adult. You and your neighbors probably did more than you know, in standing up for her today.

I would like to see us spend all the money we do on the war on drugs and change it over to the war on child abuse......hopefully, we could have better results with this "war".....and, it would actually provide some social good.

When I was a baby, my mother had a dog named Gildeah (sp: it's German, I think) and she once told me that dog used to sleep at the bottom of my crib. She (the dog, not my mother) bit my father once for something similar... takin' me outta the crib with the wrong vibes... though I can't remember what that something was. Dog: a man's worst enemy - a child's best friend. Solar...

Very sad! If a parent is that out of control in a public setting, you just have to wonder how they behave behind closed doors in their own homes! I'm glad you and Charlie were there to help that little girl!

If that is what happened in front of a crowd, what must that poor child have endured in private. I am glad you and the other concerned adults were there to help you XX MJ

Ass kicking just would have made him meaner and nastier...now cutting his balls off, that would have been a better solution. No more testosterone. I hope the little one gets help.

I will bring a sock with oranges...we can beat the shit out of him together. Incidents like that make me so angry I shake. Thank God for your neighbor Jim...and all of the other concerned adults who stepped in. I just hope that the older sister learns soon that slapping isn't okay...no matter what she sees dad doing. Geez...I hope the mom isn't that way too... "All you'll get from strangers is surface pleasantry or indifference. Only someone who loves you will criticize you." - Judith Crist, crack film critic

*shakes head sadly*..Just last night..heard a woman next door..yelling at her little one..saying the most cruelest things..and yet..speaking sweetly to the older one....it made me ill..both lil girls are not school age...the mom seems like not a very nice person..a permanent scowl on her face..last time I said something to her..I was blasted by her spewing nasty remarks at me...
