<<call me pollyanna
<<call me pollyanna The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point. 1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world. 2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners. 3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America. 4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize. 5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress. 6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners. How did you do? The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners . Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one: 1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school. 2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time. 3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile. 4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special. 5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with . Easier? The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care . Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life. "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia " (Charles Schultz) You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

such a great lesson!!! Whats the difference between kinky and perverted? Kinky is when you tickle your girl friends ass with a feather. Perverted is when you use the whole chicken...

anyone who creates a canine character with a Van Gogh and pool table in his dog house (which also doubles as a biplane) is worth listening to especially in regards to what's memorable. Great post. John Lee Hooker Recommended: [blog lucyjane78]

So true. In a world where so many claw for their fifteen seconds of fame this is a lesson worth remembering. It strikes me that fame is all about quantity of those who know you are there rather than quality of those with whom you have relationships. warm xx

FreeLove jumped ahead of me on the Nobel winners! I got the point though of the post. It is just so amazing how it's the little things that count. If I may, I'll relate a story of my working day. I'm a tourist guide in Cape Town, South Africa specialising in wine tasting tours. Well, one day not long ago I bought each person of a group a glass from a wine estate that we visited. It's amazing how when they gave feedback on their week how that particular thing stood out for them and was their most treasured possessions! It cost a mere USD1.00 for the glass and the tour package was USD1000s (including a safari)!! The Oscars I think would be Jamie Foxx, Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, and three others.

OK... now that I've racked my brain to its limits, tell me a bed-time story, we. I need some rest. Merry Christmas, if I don't see you again... before then. Solar...

THanks for the reminder Oui. I'll bet yor kitchen is THE place to be about now. Pie...pie! I would love a piece of pie - apple, blueberry, mince meat, pumpkin, rhubarb any and all of them! Just a little flakey for fancy and juicy sweet, but with a bit tart too! I'd have your pie anytime. Happy New Year!

WE....that was a wonderful post.... We all take it personally....it's important for us to understand what makes us move forward and it's important for us to know that it's not personal, but it's all personal.... I often wonder why we focus on others so much when the really important things are all within our own experience.....If we concentrate on what makes the world work for us, the world would be a better place....It's the concentrating on what others have and thinking our behavior is OK for others when it's not OK for us that causes all of the problems.... Thanks and peace Skier
