the turning of the wheel
the turning of the wheel today i have little girls coming to visit. between the watermelon feast, the water pistol battle to protect the fairy kingdom we will make, my fairy tree will once again turn to its roots and shimmer with wee resting places for sprites. we will have wings to wear of course. tutus too. and wands to bless the tiny homes we make. bubbles to blow over them to seal them with rainbows. it takes time to make fairy nests. and the roots of my tree has many many places for little homes. it's important to use only natural or found things because fairies will not use a home unless it's natural. but shells and feathers, stones and twigs, grasses and flowers, nuts and berries......all are in my yard already. we'll have plenty to build with. my ex will attack at 4. but we will fend him off because we are fearless and strong. and water from our magic pistols will melt him as he tries to take the magic from the fairy kingdom. his cape will fall to the ground and he will limp away. and we will drink pink lemonade to celebrate our victory and nibble on tiny chocolate cookies that are shaped like stars. and then as tired as we are, we will build a small fire in the fire pit and stand guard, making smores which are magical food to give us great courage and strength. and there we will tell stories and wait for the guardians to come for us. and when the guardians arrive, we shall turn the wheel on the fairy tree to seal the magic in. holding hands, we will spin three times in a circle. as the fire turns to embers and sleepy girls begin to stumble just a bit, the guardians will gather them high in their arms and slip off into the night. charlie and i will wait until the fire is done for such is the duty of the keeper of the tree. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Reminds me of Berkeley in '67. Of course, there were no little girls involved. Well... not the real kinda "little" girls, that is. Solar...

I love you! Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale Her infinite variety. Other women cloy The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry Where most she satisfies. For vilest things Become themselves in her, that the holy priests Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra

What a fun day you planned. I can picture it in my mind. It's good you can play. My mini's tell me I am too old to play...I tell them they are too young not to play.
