mortality
mortality on monday, i was driving to work. i pressed my braked pedal and nothing happened. it just went to the floor. i swerved to the side of the street and up over a birm and into a pole. the air bag exploded. i was, serendipitously, in front of the fire station. within seconds, 8 men were slipping a color around my bleeding neck, sliding me onto a straight board and loading me into an ambulance.i hit the hospital in 5 minutes; the cat scan with dye less than 5 minutes later. i had blunt force trauma to my chest and belly, a concussion , broken fingers, two broken ribs and a headache like no other headache i've ever had. but, i was alive. and truly, no major damage. the scan showed no other fractures but but some junk (age related crap) to my neck, back and shoulders,a hernia - huh?- fibroids in my lady parts and some pretty pervasive arthritis - no surprises there. pretty cool machine all in all. now comes the the cosmic, karmic aftermath. i ascended. i left my body. i was gone for quite some time i was crying when the fireman touched my face. he thought i was scared. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Wow. That's crazy...my first thought is I will be interested to hear what they find when you get your car checked out. Glad there was no major damage and you decided to come back and stay with us for the time being

I believe we check out when we are meant to, and not a minute earlier or later. It wasn't your time, but I wonder if this happened so that amazing machine would have a chance to examine you and point out something you need to take care of so that you can make it to the end of your shift in good order. As for the out of body experience... it's just a taste of things to come (but not yet).

Although painful, it sounds like it was an amazing story and in many ways, one to be grateful for...to know that you were rescued so quickly, that no major injuries happened, that people cared for you in moments time, and that you ascended yourself to experience such an amazing thing. The car can be replaced or repaired, you, my dear, cannot be replaced. I'm glad you found out all you did...like fungrapher pointed out, maybe there was something there you needed to know. Welcome back.

Oh! I wondered why you had been quiet this week. Big soft hugs and healing to you. The mind and the body do what it needs to ease our pain. That sometimes means separating the spirit from the flesh on occasion. Don't do that again!

I'm glad you came out of it okay although banged up! I had an out of body experience many years ago--it gave me a different perspective on life. Take care and mend fast! Broken ribs hurt like hell! Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones

DAMN!! Crashed into a freakin' pole! (They are a lot like trees, ya know... in that they don't give much.) So--seems we have both encountered the mortality issue... and as God would have it, neither of us is dead. Does it feel odd, though, to discover that death is not such the "grim reaper" as we have been taught to believe? My love, oui-oui-- Solar... BTW: You ain't gettin' into that car, again... right?

Wow, I'm glad you're safe. And I'm even more excited to hear the rest of your adventure. And glad you chose to come back and share it.

So pleased you came out of it. There are those mortal moments. Two months ago I made the mistake while paragliding on a very steep ridge of getting a couple of my lines caught up in my boot. The wind picked up and the 45 foot span canopy went wild, twisting and turning. The lines came free and the wing came up, pulling me into the sky, lines irrevocably twisted. It was a spine-backed ridge, so if you get blown over the top you get dropped a long way - enough to be fatal. I thought my time was up! I clutched whatever lines I could in desperation and crashed about ten feet from the top. I was concussed, but otherwise unhurt. But for a moment there was that very lucid moment of being mortal, and now that appreciation that I am. I guess we learn to live life to the full. It's limited, precious and special. And the building blocks are those experiences we have and share with others. Great to be back. warm xx

Well WE, I am just so thankful that you are alive to tell us all about it! You ain't gettin' out of this life quite so fast! Afterall, you still have a job to do in caring for some of God's children who by happenstance are less fortunate than the rest of us. And I believe that He full well knows that He needs to keep you here on this earth to help Him with all the work that He has yet to do in that regard. Now, maybe the question to ask yourself is "What do I plan to do with this extra time that I've been given?" Join the Tea Party? Become a Rush Limbaugh ditto-head? Make a huge donation to the Romney/Ryan campaign? LOL. No, I suspect He has much more important things for you to do! Glad you're OK and still with us! Hugs!

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad that you're (mostly) okay. Vent here when and if you need to about the mortality stuff. I love you! Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale Her infinite variety. Other women cloy The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry Where most she satisfies. For vilest things Become themselves in her, that the holy priests Bless her when she is riggish. ~~ from Antony & Cleopatra

Wow -- glad you're back and hopefully on the mend, and that it was a pole and not a person. Here's to finding a decent vehicle at a reasonable price.

Wow...so sorry WE. I've been away and I'm feeling guilty that I only now saw this post. I'm glad you're ok. Oddly, even though I've never met you, you're important to me. Be well. Please.
