calgon..............take me away
calgon..............take me away i just finished talking to my mom. her husband had another surgery - making 16 in 10 years. when they married, they assumed they would travel, see the world, have adventures. i assumed that when i grew up (if i grow up) that i would be able to live a life that i have yearned for since a . i love to see new places, new cultures, hear new sounds, smell new smells, see the colors of a different land. when i was young i spent some time in France and in England. i have seen only 11 of the 50 states. i've been to Montreal but for bad reasons. i want to go somewhere, see something i haven't seen before, but work and family hold me tethered to this small part of my state. i dream about Africa, New Zealand, Nepal, Japan. i have a travel fund - without any money in it cause i had to get a new furnace. pfffffft. if you could go anywhere - at no cost to you, all expenses paid - where would you go? You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

Right now Alaska, the Maritime Provinces in Canada and Heli Skiing are high on my list. I would also like to go to the far east with someone who spoke the language. There are some inns around the country and world that are calling my name....and, I think there might be a bike trip through France on the list in the not too far distant future...Now, to just schedule the time and do it. OK, your turn, where would you go?

There's this beach we stumbled across in the Yucatan ... little cantina next door ... the combination was the prettiest place I'd ever seen ... I'd be tempted to say that place, but I'm sure it would not be so enchanting the second time, if it isn't under condos by now. So, I'll go with the greek islands... everyone I know who has been there says they are fantastic

I would spend my time and money traveling to meet the people I have met and the ones I have yet to meet that have touched me in my life. You are at the top of that list.... -B

No question - it's got to be the USA/Canada. In the past 8 years on here I have been lucky enough to encounter some of the most endearing, passionate, warm hearted people I could imagine, and to be able to spend a year or two travelling round meeting them all, would make my lifetime! Mind you, I could do it real quickly if I just knock on each door, say "hi" then leave immediately for the next one, couldn't I?
