where's the beef? just wondering why it's so hard to find a good burger anymore. You cannot conceive the many without the one. |

You need a MacShooter burger. Two 1/4 lbs. beef patties, sliced smoked ham, thinly sliced roast turkey, swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, and american cheese, bbq sauce, grilled and minced onions and Mac Shooter's 4 secret herbs and spices; all on a butter toasted deli bun. No joke here WE, this burger has 985 calories. I have put two women into labor after eating one of these, and have never had one complaint. If you are ever passing through, let me know, I'll make you the burger you crave

we... Having just arrived back in the "real" world, I stumbled onto your post here... and as it relates to a topic so dear to my heart... I had to clue you in! Ya can't get good burgers anymore... not since Gore and his cronies have been out beatin' the drum (and no Andy, not a snare ) to put corks into every one of them methane machines! All the "good" beef is now plastered about the "grazing" troughs of Fat City - a result of lightning strikes too close to way too many unprotected tanks of highly flammable methane. Before... ya only had to worry about the greenhouse effect. Now, ya gotta keep your eye out for explodin' cows! JeZZZZus! When will the carnage end!? Solar...

With all due respects Solar it isn't Al Gore that ruined yer burger. It's (oh crap forgot the name of that disease) that killed a bunch of people. Now they have to cook burgers for 43 hours, 28 minutes and 13 seconds before they serve them. That and most burgers come from a factory somewhere around Toledo. They've been processed, colored, shaped just right for you and most likely 25% to 50% meat loaf. I think Sir Thomas has the right idea (minus that ton of cheeze pleze) If you want a great burger, you have to make your own. Here's mine: Leanest beef I can get, garlic pressed in, cook in butter, with tarragon and onion and soy/ginger marinade, cayenne to taste - and a splash of my secret sauce (dry vermouth). Add some sliced mushrooms a minute or two before done. I don't use buns, but I might add a thin slice of tomato. By the by...I use the samew recipe when I shred it up for spheggetti sauce.

You got a Texas Roadhouse nearby? Road Kill is great... I really ordered it the first time because of the name, but I love it so much I can't order anything else... it's a chopped sirloin burger with sauted mushrooms and onions topped off with some Monteray Jack cheese... O'Charley's has something similar but the name wasn't as much fun, I guess, since I can't remember it... Not all who wander are lost.

It's the corn we feed cattle....grass fed beef is sooooooo much better...and the feed lots are pumping drugs in cattle so their utters can handle the corn....cattle's digestive systems are not designed for corn....so, the beef doesn't taste as good..... Yeah, it's called Road Kill on the menu. The name cracked me up, I felt like one of the Clampetts ordering it and I have a blast saying that I had road kill for lunch. btw, it's not served on a bun. Most of the time I don't eat the bun anyhow, so it doesn't matter to me. I like the meat better than the bun... Not all who wander are lost.

If you ever see someone wearing an "IN 'N OUT" tee shirt, follow them. Sadly for you East Coaster's you'll never even smell a good burger till you get to IN "N OUT and they're all on the West Coast. Actually, I have been to one in Phoenix. Simple menu. Burgers, fries, drinks. Period. Always fresh, hand cut ingredients, never ever frozen. Aside from that, buffalo burgers are indeed very good. And lastly, Fuddrucker's doesn't seem to be too bad. Now I'm hungry!
